How to make frozen air fryer chicken thighs (step-by-step)

A simple seasoning mix for chicken thighs with sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder and chili powder.
While air fryer preheats, add seasonings to a bowl and mix.

Place frozen chicken thighs in basket and air fry for 8 minutes.

Ingredient notes

  • Boneless skinless chicken thighs – The recipe calls for boneless skinless chicken thighs, but you can use bone-in and skin on thighs. You will need to adjust cooking time after you flip, and cook until the internal temperature reaches 165° Fahrenheit. Also, start the cooking with the skin side facing down so it finishes with the skin facing up.
  • Seasonings – We used salt, garlic powder, onion powder and chili powder. You can really use any of your favorite seasoning combos though. We also love using salt and Italian seasoning for something super simple.

25-Minute Air Fryer Chicken Thighs (No Thaw!)

These frozen air fryer chicken thighs are ready in 25 minutes, with no prep and only 6 simple ingredients. Combine the seasonings while the chicken starts to cook in the air fryer and the season them when they're partially cooked. Super easy!

Ingredients

  • 5-6 boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

  • Turn on air fyer at 400° and set for 25 minutes. Allow it to preheat for 5 minutes.
  • While the air fryer preheats, add all of the dry seasonings to a bowl and mix. Set aside.
  • When the timer is at 20 minutes, place the frozen chicken thighs in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding the basket for even cooking.
  • Cook for 8 minutes and then remove. Brush oil and season the partially cooked thighs on the top side. Flip and brush oil and season the other side.
  • Return to the air fryer and continue cooking for another 8-10 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°.
  • Once fully cooked, remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.
