Why we love this easy pork chop recipe

  • Sometimes we forget to thaw out a protein for dinner (it happens 😩). Using this recipe, we can toss fully frozen pork chops in the air fryer and have them on the table in about 30-minutes!
  • The simple seasoning mix is amazingly flavorful and made with seasonings we always have on hand.
  • Bonus! The air fryer crisps up the outside of the pork chops, so we get the crispy outside with a juicy inside that is pork chop perfection (in our opinion).

Recipe tips and notes

  • Pork Chops – This recipe is for boneless pork chops that are approximately 1.5 inches thick. The cooking time will vary based on the size of your pork chops and your air fryer. See recipe notes.
  • Melted butter – The melted butter adds some amazing flavor, I don’t recommend skipping it. It also helps the seasoning stick to the pork chops.
  • Flipping the pork chops – You must follow recipe step #5 and flip the pork chops every 2-3 minutes towards the end of cooking. If you don’t do this the pork chops will char and burn. Trust us, it happened when we tested this recipe.
  • Instant read thermometer – We highly recommended using an instant-read thermometer to measure the internal temperature of the pork chops for this recipe. If you don’t use a thermometer you can easily get over or undercooked chops.
  • Measure in the center – Since these pork chops are cooking from frozen, the very middle-center of the pork chops will come to temperature last. This is where you need to measure the internal temperature.

Ingredients

  • 4 frozen boneless pork chops, 1.5 inches thick
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

For the seasoning:

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp brown sugar, can sub coconut sugar or regular sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Equipment

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 400° Fahrenheit. Even if it doesn't have a preheat function, preheat it for 5 minutes.
  • While the air fryer preheats, add the seasoning ingredients to small bowl or ramekin and mix well.
  • Place the pork chops in the air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each one if possible. The total cooking time will be 25-30 minutes, following the steps below.
  • Cook the pork chops for 10-minutes and then remove. Brush the melted butter over the top side of the chops and season them with half of the seasoning mix. Flip and brush with butter again and season the other side with the other half of the seasoning.
  • Return to the air fryer and continue cooking for another 8 minutes.
Flip the pork chops again and continue to cook for another 7-10 minutes, flipping every 2-3 minutes to prevent charring/burning. Cook until the chops reach an internal temperature of 145° in the center.
  • Once fully cooked, remove from the air fryer and serve.

Notes

  • The cooking time of 25-30 minutes in this recipe is for boneless pork chops that are approximately 1.5 inches thick. The cooking time will vary based on the size of your pork chops and your air fryer. Use this time recommendation as a starting point and adjust as needed. Watch your pork chops carefully during cooking to avoid over or under-cooking them. I highly recommend using an instant-read thermometer.
  • As a general rule of thumb, frozen boneless pork chops need to cook for about 8-10 minutes per ½ inch of thickness in a 400° Fahrenheit preheated air fryer.
