Holy moly, it has been HOT! And what better way to cool off and relax than crisp and refreshing strawberry basil watermelon agua fresca!? That is a mouthful, huh! Well, it is totally worth it. Not only is this a totally refreshing, non-alcoholic beverage you can enjoy anytime of day, it would also be pretty incredible with some booze added in if that’s your thing.
I love that watermelon and strawberries are both in season right now and so so vibrant. They are beautiful and delicious, so that’s a win! Check these little gems out. They are just sweet enough to make you smile, and the crisp sparkling water is refreshing. It’s like a paleo friendly soda or mocktail.
Even better, they are ready to be sipped in about 5 minutes or less, depending how quick you can wrangle a big watermelon! All you do is chop up your watermelon, toss it in a blender with some strawberries, basil and lime juice and blend. Fill up your glasses about halfway with sparkling water and then add in the blended mixture, stir and sip!

This is a really great blender (smoothie) recipe! I love to use vegetables and fruit that are in season but, really, watermelon and strawberries are tasty any time of the year (when available). I love that you added some basil into this. Basil is a seriously underrated juicing or smoothie ingredient. It not only adds an awesome flavor, but also the aroma of it just makes whatever its’s in taste better. Smell has a lot to do with taste, even if it’s subtle, and the basil in this one is perfect.
Anyhow, I just found you through Pinterest and I’ll be sure to repin this one and share it elsewhere. Have a great one, and stay cool! 🙂
Thanks so much for visiting and sharing our recipe! We really appreciate it! And totally agreed. Basil is underrated and underused in smoothies! I love it with blueberry, too! I read your post on watermelon juice, and there were so many tidbits I didn’t know! I’ve only had pickled watermelon rind and had considered including it in my smoothies. I will have to give that a try next time! Thanks again for visiting! 🙂
Classic flavour combo!! Will make this asap!!
Will have to try this. Never thought to add basil to drinks!

Yeah – we love adding basil to fruity stuff. It adds a little bit of savory to the sweet!
