An easy way to cook pork chops quickly in the oven, these broiled pork chops are juicy with the perfect sear on the outside. A simple seasoning blend adds delicious flavor and they're ready in about 20 minutes!
IMPORTANT: Adjust the oven rack you will place the pork chops on so it sits about 9-inches away from the heating element at the top of the oven.Set oven to broil on high and let the oven heat up while you prepare the pork chops.
Make the seasoning mix by combining the seasonings in a small bowl and mixing.
Place the pork chops on a sheet pan and drizzle oil over each pork chop. Rub (or brush) the oil over both sides of the pork chops.
Season the pork chops on both sides with the seasoning mix.
Place the pork chops in the oven to bake for 7-8 minutes per side, carefully flipping halfway. If the chops aren't fully cooked after 8 minutes per side, continue to cook them and flip every 2 minutes to prevent burning. Cook until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145° Fahrenheit. NOTE: There will be smoke towards the end of cooking. Just continue to flip the chops frequently if needed to prevent burning. Watch them closely and pull immediately when they reach 145° Fahrenheit.
Carefully remove from the oven and allow the pork chops to rest for 3-5 minutes before serving.
Notes
The cooking time noted in this recipe is for bone-in pork chops that are approximately 1.5 inches thick. The cooking time will vary based on the size of the pork chops and your oven. Use the cooking time recommendation as a starting point and adjust as needed. Watch your pork chops carefully during cooking to avoid over or under-cooking them. I highly recommend using an instant-read thermometer.
The cooking time noted is also with the oven rack placed approximately 9 inches away from the heating element (broiler). If your rack is closer the cooking time will be less, if it's farther away it will be more.
As a general rule of thumb, bone-in pork chops need to be broiled for 6-7 minutes per ½ inch of thickness on a rack approximately 9 inches from the broiler.
